ARDE' a division of Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne, is a recognized leader in the design and manufacturing of spaceflight pressure vessels. It has an open position for Quality Assurance Manager.

Position is direct "hands-on" position responsible a broad range of QA functions including: management of personnel and the ARDE AS9100 compliant quality system, oversight of process/special process control and audits within ARDE and its supply chain, maintenance of inspector certifications, SPC, and preparation of detailed End Item Data Packages/ Build Certifications for product.

ARDE is a small standalone division of PWR. The position involves both personnel supervision and hands-on work in described functions.


BS degree in Engineering, Aerospace 12+ years direct related experience
MA/MS degree 9+ years experience


Candidate must have a good understanding of how programs, engineering, quality and manufacturing work cohesively in a small company environment in short cycle development, qualification and production build cycles.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are an entrance criteria for consideration for the position as is a knowledge of relevant industry standards and protocol for work in high value spaceflight platforms and human spaceflight.

Experience in an AS9100 registered organization and AS9100 internal auditor certification preferred.

Position requires a demonstrated ability to develop strong teaming/ cross discipline relationships.


This position is located in Carlstadt, NJ

On July 23, 2012, the United Technologies Corporation ("UTC") reached an agreement to sell the Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne business ("PWR") to Gencorp. It is anticipated that, if finalized, the transaction will be completed in the first half of 2013.
